Matthew Ireland

Matthew Ireland is a creative director and brand storyteller. He leads development of narrative, identity, and marketing content to enhance the human experiences and spaces that Lumiodo clients wish to create. Sometimes called a "Swiss army knife,” he’s got a versatile creative skill set, lots of marketing and tech startup know-how, and considers “active listening” to be his superpower.


Matthew has spent 25+ years establishing, leading and refreshing brand experiences. While at Jobcase – the online community for workers – he helped drive platform growth of 100+ million members, and nurtured hundreds of business, nonprofit and government partnerships. He played an integral role in Prudential’s rebrand – developing TV spots, multimedia campaigns, and Cannes Lion-winning online engagement tools. And he’s collaborated with other well-known brands – PTC, Lyft, Uber, the Urban League (Boston & Chicago), USXpress, Droga5, Johnson & Johnson, Rubbermaid, and IBM.


Matthew has an MA in Media Studies (and Communication Theory) from The New School (NYC), a BS in Graphic Communications (minor in Architecture) from Carnegie Mellon University, and studied UX with Alan Cooper in San Francisco. Outside of his work pursuits, Matthew is a proud dad of two really cool adults, an avid volunteer, part-time gardener, and life-long musician. He lives in Sandy Hook, CT with his lovely wife and a sweet, UPS-package-eating red Lab named Scout.
