Lance Harrell is the Director of Business Development & Community Outreach for Lumiodo Design Group. Lance has an extensive residential development and community outreach background, making him a valuable asset to our team.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, from the Hill District to Beechview, Lance is a proud graduate of Point Park University. He has built a distinguished career in housing development and workforce development. As the Director of Workforce Development and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion at the Master Builders’ Association of Western Pennsylvania (MBA), Lance was critical in advancing initiatives that fostered greater inclusivity in the construction industry and union trades. Through his leadership, Lance helped MBA and the Construction Advancement Program (CAP) educate industry members and develop impactful business initiatives that increased inclusion. Prior to his time at MBA, Lance worked with the Hill Community Development Corporation, overseeing the Community Collaboration Implementation Plan for the historic Lower Hill site.
As an entrepreneur and developer, Lance managed the rehabilitation of single-family and multi-unit homes in Pittsburgh’s underserved neighborhoods, ensuring families had access to quality affordable housing.
Lance’s commitment to community extends beyond his professional work.
He serves on several boards, including Operation Better Block, the Young Preservationists Association, and Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, where he continues to support local initiatives. Lance’s philosophy, “A solid foundation is essential in construction; without it, the entire structure is compromised,” underscores his dedication to both his work and his community.
